If your domain is hosted with another company other than the ones below please contact the support department from the relevant company and they should be able to guide you through this. If you want to email us your domain registrar you can and we will look in to adding a guide also.

Be aware it may take as long as 72 hours before DNS changes are propagated, depending on the time to live (TTL) that was configured for your records. Until records have been updated worldwide, you will still receive traffic to your old server.

1&1 MX Records changes

To update your MX records with this Domain Name System (DNS) provider.

Steps

Log in to your account at: https://www.1and1.com/login

Under Domains & Web Space, click Domains.

Select the check box next to the domain that you will be using with Microsoft for email.

From the DNS drop-down menu, select Edit DNS Settings.

Under Advanced DNS Settings, select the Other mail server radio button.

Delete any existing MX records.

Include the MX record values shown in theĀ 

Click OK.

123 Reg MX record Changes

Steps

Log in to your account at 123-reg.co.uk.

Choose the domain you wish to use with Microsoft in the Manage Domains drop-down box, and click Modify Domain.

Choose the fifth option - Manage DNS.

Include the MX record values shown in the MX record values table.

Click Update DNS.

Go Daddy MX record Changes

Steps

To manually create MX records for a domain hosted by GoDaddy:

Log in to your account at http://www.godaddy.com by clicking the My Account tab. GoDaddy screenshot

Under the Domains header, find the domain you're using with Microsoft. Click (Advanced Details) to the right of this domain.

Under the DNS Manager header, click Launch.

In the MX (Mail Exchanger) section, click Quick Add.

Include the MX record values shown in the MX record values table with an @ sign in the Host field and the destination in the Points to field. Repeat for each of the five servers.

Once you've added all five MX records in the table, click Save Zone File at the top or the bottom of the page.

Fasthosts/UKREG MX record ChangesĀ 

Steps

Log in to your account at www.fasthosts.co.uk by entering your username and password.

Under the header Hosting, click on Email Hosting menu.

In the Configure Hosting Packages table, click on the website you want to use with Microsoft.

In the MX Records table, delete any existing MX records.

Click on add a MX record.

Include the MX record values shown in the MX record values table.

Click on Save.

Repeat to create an MX record for each of the mail servers in the MX record values table.
